I Can’t Wait…

I can’t wait until he talks…

I can’t wait until he walks…

I can’t wait until he eats solids…

I caught myself saying these and many more things by the time he was 2 months old. Once I caught myself saying it for the umpteenth time I realized I need to stop saying “I can’t wait” because what I really mean is “I am excited for”.

I am excited for when he can talk and we can carry on silly conversations.

I am excited for when he can walk and we can go explore places.

I am excited for when he begins to eat solids and I get to watch his reactions to new foods.

I heard a lot of moms talk about how they learned to be patient or not care about their messy house. My biggest lesson I learned first was I need to slow down. I need to embrace the moments I have with him in the stage he is at. Yes, I am excited for those future milestones but I also love that he still lays there in my arms while I feed him his bottle. I won’t get these days back with him so until that next milestone comes up I am going enjoy the hell out of my goobering baby.
